   Yegor Plotnikov was born in Kirov (Russia) in 1980. He finished the Rylov Art School of Vyatka in 2000 and graduated from the Surikov State Art Institute of Moscow in 2006. Between 2006 and 2008 Plotnikov had study placements at the Creative Workshops of the Russian Academy of Arts. A Moscow Artists Union member, Plotnikov has exhibited his works since 1994, including in Italy, Belgium, England and Germany.

   In 2011 Plotnikov took part in the exhibition ‘Forms of Life. Return to Reality’ at the State Tretyakov Gallery. His works are in Russian regional museums, in the collections of the Russian Academy of Arts, the Russian Culture Fund and the Gorbachev Foundation, as well as in private collections inside and outside Russia. Plotnikov has cooperated with the Kovcheg Gallery since 2006, contributing his works to many of its expositions. In the autumn of 2009 Plotnikov took part in the exhibition ‘Personal Acquaintance’ (within the Parallel Programme of the 3rd Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art). The Kovcheg Gallery showed his works at Art.Fair 21 (Cologne, Germany) in 2010. In the autumn of 2011 Plotnikov’s works were included in the Kovcheg Gallery exposition ‘Between Object and Imagination’, mounted within the Parallel Programme of the 4th Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art, and selected for show at Art.Fair (Cologne, Germany).
