   Natalia Sitnikova was born in Moscow in 1978. She finished the Moscow Academic Art Lyceum in 1996 and graduated from the Surikov State Art Institute of Moscow in 2002. That same year she joined the Moscow Artists Union. She actively exhibits her works: the State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg) showed her works at the exhibition ‘Abstraction in Russia. 20th Century’ in 2001 and a year later it staged her solo exhibition. In 2004 Sitnikova contributed to the exhibition ‘Art Seminar. Trialogue’ at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art. The year 2005 marked the beginning of her international career: the International Print Center New York (USA) hosted an exhibition, ‘Moscow Grafika: Artists’ Prints 1961 – 2005’ from the Kolodzei Art Foundation collection. In the past few years Sitnikova took part in numerous exhibitions in Moscow, St. Petersburg and New York. In 2006 and 2008 she attended the International Art Moscow Fairs and in 2008 the 1st International Moscow Biennale of Young Art. The same year she undertook the Title Here video art project at the State Centre for Contemporary Art (Moscow) within the framework of the Museum Night programme. In 2009 Sitnikova contributed to the exposition ‘From Non-Conformism to Feminism: Russian Women Artists’ (Chelsea Art Museum, New York), the biennale Water (Bad Breisig, Germany) and the special project Dormitory District within the framework of the 3rd Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art.

   Sitnikova’s works are in the State Russian Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the Art Museum of Tobolsk (Russia), in the Kolodzei Art Foundation collection of Russian and East European Art (USA) and other collections. Sitnikova has been involved in Moscow’s Kovcheg Gallery projects since 2010. In the autumn of 2011 her works formed part of the Kovcheg Gallery exposition ‘Between Object and Imagination’, staged within the Parallel Programme of the 4th Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art.
